My furkid, Dewey…

I’ve always written about my kids… and never about my furkid… strange…. so today’s post is for my furkid… if I calculate correctly, he is 6 years old this year already….

And today out of nowhere, I just felt like trimming my furkid’s fur… Well, the fur around his face is getting long and irritating his eyes. After the bathing and trimming session, I just took these few photographs…

And this here below is my favorite picture!!!

Can I have Facebook, mummy?

Pengsan… Joel came to me today and ask me… “Can I have Facebook, mummy?”

He has just turned 5… and yet he is competent enough on the computer. Not many kids at 5 years of age knows how to type out an email and click “Send”… (Mummy have to type out the email address la… later he miss out one dot or one underscore then send to wrong person liao)…

He can also communicate via Skype! Typing out messages… you should see him “verbalizing” his sentences the Malaysian way… with “-lah” and “-ma”….

Not to mention playing online kids games at the Disney and Starfall page….

And now he wants Facebook… The reason being that he wants to add his best friend in pre-school in his Facebook…

So, should I let him have Facebook at this tender age?

Pop! Pop! Pop!…. Ka-ching!!! $$$ bye bye….

This morning something went POP while I was replying emails… I tried to look for the source but could not find anything wrong. Besides, if something is wrong, my computer should not be functioning right? And there must be some “burning” smell? But nada… nothing!!! So, failing to find the source, I continued with my work..

Towards the evening, to my horror… my screen went BLANK!!! And when I restarted the computer, the screen came up fuzzy. I tried to restart another time… this time it went into the Blue Screen Of Death (if you don’t know what is that… try googling for it.. it’s BSOD in short).. So, I restarted it into Safe Mode.. this time it started ok… but still the screen is fuzzy… and the diagnosis shows that something is wrong with the graphics card driver…

I then tried to download the latest driver and install it. Still the same… Normal mode goes into BSOD (found out what that means yet? :P) Safe mode goes into fuzzy screen….

So, now it is time for computer operation… luckily, I had an idea on what is motherboard, what is RAM, what is graphics card etc etc… I took out the screws and then removed the graphics card….

And upon closer inspection, this is what I found…

3 BUSTED CAPACITORS!!!!

So, that’s the mystery of the POP sound solved!!! And I can now also explain the fuzzy screen…
BUT as a computer and internet addict, I can’t imagine an evening without going on the internet… not to mention the whole weekend!!!! It is getting late… and the computer shop will probably close in the next hour… I quickly bundled up the 2 kids into the car, grabbed the faulty graphics card (so that I can show them that this is what I want and get a similar one loh… I know there are many kinds of slot and I am not familiar with it la… haha.. although I know how to take out and put in loh) and ZOOM off to the computer shop… and got this…

This costs me RM288… Ka-ching $$ bye bye… sigh….

Squeaky Shoes!!!

I bought a pair of squeaky shoes for my little princess yesterday as her old ones are getting too small for her! I decided to get the squeaky type as it’s only kids who can wear squeaky shoes… when did you ever see an adult wearing squeaky shoes??? So, let the kids enjoy it while they can!! Plus, it’s her first pair of squeaky shoes!!!

And you know what is the best thing??? Isabel’s expression!!! Oh, how I wish I could record that moment!!! She saw her new shoes and was so excited to try it on… and when she wore it and stood up, “squeeeaakkk” went the shoes… and she just stood there with a stunned expression on her face!!! It was just priceless to watch!!! And then she started to walk… and with every step there was a squeak… hehe… Her quick brain now tells her that there will be a squeak with every step… so what did she do?? She started to shuffle her steps instead… to avoid the squeak…. I was laughing and encouraging her to walk properly at the same time…. and then she found the fun with the squeaks… now she stomps and runs around…. proud of her squeaky shoes!!!

Cost of shoes: RM13.90 (cheap cheap nia…)
Expression on Isabel’s face: Priceless!!!!
